Descripción

The Wall Street Journal’s Latin America team seeks a bureau chief in Lima, Peru. This reporter would cover a fast-growing, fast-developing country that has been a regional darling for investors but is still hobbled by high levels of poverty, economic inequality and political imbroglios. The paper seeks a strong self-starter and imaginative writer who can bring alive one of Latin America’s most interesting but little covered countries. This reporter’s work, though, will go far beyond Peru, developing stories in neighboring Chile, the region’s most advanced economy, Argentina and as far north as Venezuela. The candidate should have strong ideas for stories region-wide, as well as be able to help other reporters in the region to put together news and feature stories. Feeding the web is a must, and ability to edit a definite plus.

Applications shouldincludea resume, cover letter and up to fivepublishedclips.
